AUDI Q7 2011 SPORT RIM

Full-scale discussions of sense and nonsense of all SUVs are near to the end but without any tangible result because the sales figures of this very noble vehicle (if they are actually used as such) from Ingolstadt, Munich, Stuttgart or Zuffenhausen are still unexpectedly high. The team led by Marc Reilly, head of the MR Car Design Company from Erftstadt, recently has chosen an Audi Q7 for reconstruction in order to allow the drivers to float on a cloud.

Aforementioned Q7 has been subjected to additional modification of daytime running lights from 2008 to 2010 levels, installation of LED indicator strip and performance improvement, so this noble racer is very close to new recently face-lifted model. The cost of such upgrade is 6999 Euro.

The software optimization of the 4.2-liter TDIs by MR Car Design from 326 to now 374 hp – while the maximum torque rises from 760 to currently 870 Nm – and withdrawal of tiresome Vmax lock add additional 799 Euros. Use of double-pack K & N air filter adds 160 Euros.
Road adherence in this case is provided by 22-inch alloy wheels MRGT22 in 9.5 inch width and Icebear W300 tires in dimension of 265/35-22 at a price of 2599 Euro total, with deep intervention in the electronics that results to extra 299 Euro. If the interior of the Q7 is also important for you, this can be helped by modification of steering wheel from the current Audi RS6. The price for this is available to interested parties on request.

AUDI TT RS RACE CAR

Raeder Motorsport will get to determine whether Audi`s TT RS race version is up to DTM standards in the coming weekends at the Nurburgring.

The two test races this month will take place on October 16 and 30 at the Endurance Championship. Marc Hennerici and Christopher Mie will be behind the wheel and they certainly are the best men for the verdict due to their VLN Championship experience in the Audi A1. The TT model last saw chase in the DTM series in 2003 but there has been a lot of changes made to the TT race modek since. It shares the same 2.5 liter, turbocharged 5-cylinder TFSI engine as the TT RS production model but also benefits from various racing components from the Audi R8 LeMans Series.

AUDI A9 CONCEPT DESIGN 2010 SUPERCARS!!!

Audi has just released its latest concept design. It is known as the A9 concept and it is unlike anything we have seen in any production car to date. Audi plans to project its A9 concept at a higher standing than its current top dog, the A8. Audi predicts that this concept will be advanced enough to overwhelm first-class luxury models from competitors such as the Porsche Panamera, and the Lamborghini Estoque if ever it will be put into production.

The form and features of the 2010 Audi A9 Concept were motivated in part by the magnificent structural design of Santiago Calatrava’s architecture in The City of Arts and Sciences located in Valencia. Such inspiration can be seen in the smooth, sleek and flowing contours of the vehicle along with its futuristic structure. Calatrava’s constructions seem as if they were taken from centuries in the future, and Audi’s concept emulates the same ideals.

The windshield of this concept car is fully integrated into the roof, and is composed of material using nanotechnology. Note that this technology does not exist at this time, since it is designed to automatically adjust from clear to opaque, change color and repair damage. Changing colors to the preference of the driver is a feature also reserved for the body kit of the A9. This means that at the touch of a button, the car can change from white to black, to red, to blue, etc.

Propulsion for the A9 concept is achieved via a sophisticated fusion between electric-powered motors found in each of the four wheels of the vehicle, working in concurrence with an internal combustion engine using a renewable source of fuel. Once again, such technology does not exist as of yet, but the plans for this vehicle certainly sound fascinating.

AUDI R8 E-TRON

Not only did Audi win Le Mans in convincing fashion, the four rings showed off a prototype of the Audi R8 e-tron electric sports car at the race. Racing legend Frank Biela took the e-tron out for a spin in the Le Mans vers le futur demo event for EVs. The previous time Audi had an e-tron on show was at Detroit, with the tech wrapped in a TT-sized body.

The R8 e-tron is powered by four motors connected to a wheel each for quattro grip. Combined, they provide 313 hp and 4500 Nm of torque (no it’s no a typo), propelling the two-seater from 0-100 km/h in just 4.8 seconds. 70% of power goes to the rear wheels while the rest goes to the fronts. The battery sits behind the passenger cabin for a 42:58 weight distribution.

Torque vectoring from the four motors mean that understeer and oversteer can be corrected by not only targeted activation of the brakes, but also by precise increases in power by few milliseconds. The R8 e-tron is claimed to remain extremely neutral even under great lateral acceleration, “hustling through corners as if on the proverbial rails” according to Audi.

The car’s lithium-ion battery can be charged from a household plug socket (230 volts/16 amperes), taking six to eight hours to be refilled. Kinetic energy from the brakes is recuperated, channelled to the alternator and converted into electrical energy. It all sounds good, but when is Ingolstadt finally putting an e-tron into production?

Gallery after the jump.
